Terms of service

I design and build websites for a one-time price, from $500 to $1,000 or more depending on the pages and features your site needs. Before any work starts, I confirm the pages, features, price and launch date with you in writing by email. That written quote is the agreement for your project.

Every site also runs on my Website Care Plan, from $50 a month starting at launch (see Hosting and domains below).

I also take on other work, like 3D models, CRMs, AI agents, automations, web apps and online stores. These are priced separately from the website price. Each one gets its own written quote that sets the price, the payment schedule and what is included, and that quote is the agreement for that work. These terms apply to it where they fit, and where the quote says something different, the quote wins.

All prices are in US dollars. The prices on this site are starting prices; your written quote sets the final price.

A deposit of 10% of the quoted build price, paid online through Stripe with a link I send with your quote, starts the work. The deposit is not refundable. The rest of the build price is due before the site goes live. Card payments are processed by Stripe; I never see or store your card number.

You review the site while it is being built and tell me what to change. Changes that add pages or features beyond the quote are priced in writing before I do them.

You confirm you have the right to use the text, photos and logos you send me. If you need help with text, I write it with you.

Once the build price is paid, the website built for you and its content are yours. If you cancel the Care Plan, you keep the site files and your domain name; I stop hosting and looking after the site.

Every site I build is hosted on my Website Care Plan. It is required, starts at launch, costs from $50 a month and covers hosting, your domain name, fixes, small edits and integrations. If your site uses an integration with its own usage costs, such as an AI chat, the monthly price can be higher; your written quote sets it. Major updates, such as full design or layout changes and additional features, are not covered by the Care Plan; they are billed separately and quoted in writing before I start. It is billed monthly through Stripe and stays in place for as long as your site is live on my hosting.

You can cancel the Care Plan from the Manage your plan link at the bottom of this site, but cancelling it ends my hosting: your site goes offline at the end of the month you have paid for, and you are not charged again. You keep your site files and your domain name.

Your domain name is included in the Care Plan. I register it and keep it running while your Care Plan is active.

Your quote includes a launch date. If the project waits on content or answers from you, the date moves by the same amount of time.

My total responsibility for any project is limited to what you paid for it. I'm not responsible for outages or changes caused by the hosting company, domain registrar or other third-party services I use to run your site.

If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new date. The terms in place when you paid your deposit apply to your project.
